Natural oils have been used in beauty routines for centuries.
Yet, in the past decades, the world has shifted to artificial products full of man-made chemicals.
Now we are re-discovering our roots as we realise that oils are a more effective and natural alternative.
The problem is, “Which oils are best suited to your skin type?”
Read on as we give you a perspective into the intricacies of natural oils.
You Probably Have Used Oils Before
Whether you are a beauty product addict or on the more casual side, chances are you have used some form of oil in your beauty routine. Perhaps you already use oils to moisturise your skin. Your favourite product might be oil-based.
The key is to scrutinise the ingredient labels of the beauty products you are currently using. If you liked the product based on oils, chances are you will love the organic version of those oils.
Now don’t go all trigger happy with your oil pumps. Unless you have used them in their pure form before that is. We are big on patch testing – we believe that every single product that touches your skin should be patch tested.
Viscosity – The Texture Of The Oil Matters
Not to be confused with absorption rate or comedogenic rating, oils can be classified into 3 viscosity categories: thin, medium and thick. For example, Castor Oil is on the higher end of the viscosity scale, whereas Grapeseed Oil has a very light consistency.
For face cleansing, this will translate into how your blend will feel. Do you prefer a thick, luxurious touch or would you rather a thinner blend which is easier to wash off?
Massage oil viscosity will depend on the techniques used. A thicker texture is better for those who require some grip and the thinner oils will glide more easily.
It all boils down to personal preference and the intended use – there is no best answer when it comes to viscosity.
Our face is our visual identity, yet is subjected to harsh chemicals in our beauty routines.

You can be in control of the ingredients in your facial wash. Ingredients that suit your skin type.
Our face cleansers are a revolutionary yet time-honoured skin care technique which will change your beauty routines, forever.
Traditionally over-the-counter face cleansers strip everything off your skin – dirt, oil and other nasties – usually leaving the skin dry and hence the need for a moisturiser afterwards.
Let’s face it: most of us have skin problems especially around the facial area and it has a huge effect on our lives – whether it’s the way other people perceive us, our confidence or general well-being.
But did you know that there is a type of a cleanser that has been used throughout history? A natural cleanser that removes make-up and moisturises in one go, devoid of any harsh chemicals and can be blended to suit your unique skin type?
The secret is oil cleansing.
Oil dissolves oil. One of the most basic principles of chemistry is that “like dissolves like”.
By using the right oils, you can cleanse your pores of dirt and bacteria naturally, gently and effectively, while replacing the dirty oil with beneficial ones extracted from natural plants, vegetables and fruits that heal, protect and nourish your skin. When done properly and consistently, oil cleansing can relieve common skin problems while leaving your skin healthy, balanced and properly moisturised.
Think about it this way: oil has the power to cleanse your face whilst leaving behind a moisturising layer full of natural benefits and restorative properties.
Your face produces oil sebum for a good reason – replacing it with the right oils is truly the best thing you can do for your skin.
